Horn #11

TalkTools® Horn #11

TalkTools® Horn #11

Horn #11 is the penultimate step in the TalkTools® Horn Hierarchy, a 12-level program that systematically increases the effort required to produce sound by blowing through each horn. As one of the most challenging horns in the hierarchy, Horn #11 is used with clients who have already demonstrated success through the earlier levels and are building toward maximum respiratory and oral motor output.

Therapy Goals

  • Develop maximal controlled oral airflow and breath support for blowing tasks
  • Strengthen lip seal and oral motor coordination under high-resistance conditions
  • Build sequential respiratory skill through the TalkTools Horn Hierarchy
  • Support phoneme production and speech clarity through structured blowing progression
  • Facilitate turn-taking and phoneme imitation at an advanced level
  • Advanced hierarchy step: level 11 of 12 in the TalkTools Horn Hierarchy
  • Progressive resistance: builds oral motor strength systematically
  • Clear auditory feedback: reinforces successful blowing attempts
  • No batteries or cables required: simple to use in any setting
  • Program-based design: intended for use within the Horn Kit under therapist guidance
  • Clients who have completed Horns #1 through #10 in the TalkTools Horn Hierarchy
  • Individuals with autism, childhood apraxia of speech, or motor speech disorders
  • Clients with velo-pharyngeal insufficiency working toward maximum airflow control
  • SLPs and OTs implementing the TalkTools Horn Kit program
  • School-based, early intervention, and private practice settings
  • 1 x TalkTools Horn #11
